Capiz shells are actually the outer shell of a marine mollusk more commonly known as "windowpane oyster". Philippine capiz shells are so named because they were originally harvested from the shallow coastal waters near the town of Capiz, on the island of Panay. Once cleaned, the shells are naturally translucent and, when painted, allow for a glorious interplay between light and color.

Natural Capiz shell is an eco-friendly, abundant, and sustainable resource found in the Pacific Ocean near the equator

The Tree of Life symbol represents many layers of meaning for those on the spiritual life. The tree is rooted strong in the Earth and it's limbs reach to the sky. It represents our connection to Source, grounding energy and all that sustains us. It also represents how we gain our strength from that connection. Imagine the leaf fluttering at the end of a limb that is fed by the branch, the trunk and roots of the tree - so are we fed from our connection to our true self. The leaf realizes its individuality and may feel alone just as we can feel alone on our journey, and yet just like the leave, we are not. We are more than we realize. If you've ever settled next to a tree you will feel the peace they exude in their rooted strength that reaches for the stars.
