Event: Beginner Crystal Wire Wrapping Class

Join us for a fun and beginner-friendly three-hour class where you'll learn to wire wrap a beautiful crystal pendant that you can wear home! All materials needed to create your pendant will be provided, including a selection of crystals from SplinterCat Creations and copper wire. Tools will be available for you to borrow during the class.

Outcomes:

  1. Hands-On Skills: Learn essential wire wrapping techniques to securely attach crystals, creating a stunning pendant.

  2. Material Selection: Choose from a variety of crystals and understand how to select the right materials for your projects.

  3. Step-by-Step Guidance: Follow along with clear, step-by-step instructions and receive helpful tips throughout the class.

  4. Creative Expression: Personalize your pendant design, allowing your creativity to shine through.

  5. Finished Piece: Leave the workshop with a beautiful crystal pendant that you crafted yourself, ready to wear home!

Pam will play a video on a projector screen showing the steps involved in wrapping the specific design. She’ll also wrap along with you - showing the steps in-person, as needed, as you follow along. A handout will also be provided showing the step-by-step process (you will be able to take the handout home with you if you like).

You will be able to choose a crystal from the cabochons provided by SplinterCat Creations, or may bring a Cabochon of your own if preferred. If you’ll be bringing your own Cabochon, it is recommended to bring one with a flat back, that is either round or oval shaped, and is at least the size of a quarter but no bigger than the palm of your hand.

Tools will be available for you to borrow during the class. If bringing your own tools, it is recommended to bring flush cutters, small pliers (smooth on the inside of the jaws, no ridges), round nose pliers, and nylon jaw pliers could be helpful as well.

Bare Copper wire will be provided for your project as well. If you would prefer to use a different type of wire, please feel free to bring your own. If bringing your own wire, it is recommended you bring dead soft wire in both 18gauge and 28 gauge.

At the end of class, Pam can put your pendant on a cord with sliding knots so you can wear it home :). If you would like your pendant on a specific chain or cord, please bring the chain/cord along with you.
