Butterfly Capiz Shells & Feathers Dreamcatcher
Capiz shells are actually the outer shell of a marine mollusk more commonly known as "windowpane oyster". Philippine capiz shells are so named because they were originally harvested from the shallow coastal waters near the town of Capiz, on the island of Panay. Once cleaned, the shells are naturally translucent and, when painted, allow for a glorious interplay between light and color.
The butterfly represents many different things, but most profoundly they demonstrate the ability to metamorphosis their life from crawling on the ground to then flying free after their transformation. Their delicate beauty can also symbolize purity, love, elegance, lightness of being, honor, good luck, hope, and unpredictability.
Natural Capiz shell is an eco-friendly, abundant, and sustainable resource found in the Pacific Ocean near the equator
